The Aegis 100W TC Box Mod GeekVape has arrived at BHVape – Bournemouth. We like to source products that we ourselves have tried and tested, as well as taking general opinions and suggestions from trusted customers and other people within the vaping community. The Aegis by GeekVape has recently hit the shelves at BHV, and we decided to take a closer look.
One of the first things you notice about the Aegis, is its solid yet sleek exterior. Featuring tough (Military Grade) shockproof rubber, a robust zinc alloy frame and a rather unique leather hand grip that really sets this mod apart in terms of aesthetics. When you hold this mod, you can immediately tell that it is sturdy and well crafted. The top of the mod is wide enough to be able to fit RDAs/RTAs/Tanks that are up to 30mm, meaning there will be no overhang when using a large atomiser, and they will sit flush, making it look a lot more pleasing to the eye.
GeekVape pride the Aegis, and quite rightly so, It is possibly the most sturdy and durable mod on the market at the moment, and boasts a design that is said to be not only shockproof, but waterproof and dustproof too, utilising the highest level of standardised testing. That being said, we do not recommend chucking it out of the car window going 80mph in a middle of an underwater hurricane, with piranhas chomping away at it.
The Aegis’ functionality is truly commendable, it uses a single 18650 OR 26650 battery (we suggest a reputable brand and model such as Samsung 25rs – Available here at BHV) To open the battery compartment, all you have to do is unscrew a latch on the bottom of the device. The fire button on the Aegis is very ‘clicky’ (check out my uber technical terminology!), and is very satisfying to press. Underneath the fire button, there is an ‘double-glazed’ OLED screen that displays all sorts of information including, wattage, battery status, puff counter and resistance. And under that, are the + & – buttons.
It uses one of the most advanced chip featuring the real rated power and instantaneous firing (0.015 seconds).
The Aegis 100W TC Box Mod GeekVape has full Temperature Control (Ni, SS, Ti) capabilities as well as Bypass mode, and of course, Power (or regular Wattage) mode. A really great feature that I have not yet found in regulated devices, is the fact that the minimum resistance is just 0.05ohms, so you can really get on with super low builds, if you do so wish. In Wattage Mode, the device goes up to 100W. I found that when using the same RDA, with the same build, initially on another mod set at 98 watts, that the Aegis only needed to go up to 70 watts, to get the same hit. Yet another aspect of this device that I find rather impressive, is it’s super speedy 0.015 second ramp up, which obviously, is very, very fast!
The Aegis is very decent in price, for what you are getting with this device (hey that rhymes). We sell them in a variety of attractive colours and finishes. The Aegis not only looks great, but it feels great and performs wonderfully too.
